1950’s inspired bridal shoot

June 16th, 2011

I’d had this idea for a while that I wanted to do a 1950’s inspired bridal shoot, it had to be in Blackpool and I wanted to shoot down on the beach under a pier.

I got together with Chrissy Mathew, Catherine Hughes of Ivy Clara and Florence-Rose King, and we all headed to Blackpool for the day. The fatal flaw in our plan was that nobody thought to check the tide times! Unfortunately the tide was well and truly in so the idea of shooting down on the beach and under the pier had to be abandoned…

It was pretty cold and grim but Flo was a true professional and didn’t complain once; in between shots we wrapped her up in her coat to keep warm!

I loved doing this shoot, it’s always good to work on personal projects in between other work.

Flo looked stunning and was a dream to photograph!

I think that the grey skies and grim weather actually complemented this shoot…..

…..and we couldn’t do a 1950’s shoot in Blackpool without a Union Jack flag…..

Thanks for a fab shoot girls, I hope we all get the chance to work together again soon!
