Being a rubbish geek…..

August 11th, 2011

As a photographer, I get giddy about lenses, camera bags, and other things that could possibly be described as geeky. Not massively you understand. But never the less, the giddiness is there.

My favourite lens for the past year has been the 50mm 1.8. I love the shallow depth of field and the bokeh it can create. So last month I finally gave in and bought the 50mm 1.4.

I’d had it about a week before I even managed to go out and play with it, as I’d been too busy.

This is just one reason why Ian calls me a crap geek; because although I have the giddiness about certain ‘gadgets’, I don’t always play with them as quickly as I should (in Ian’s opinion)!

A couple of weeks ago, I FINALLY headed out with my new toy and I completely fell in love with it.

I’ve yet to use it on an actual photoshoot, but I have some coming up where it will definitely make an appearance.

I think this next shot, is one of my favourite’s from the day…..

My sidekick Ste who never has a say about having his photo taken….!

Although I’ve not had chance to use it for a shoot yet, I’m pretty happy with the images from my play date……
