Most people who know me, will be aware that spending the day shopping isn’t really my idea of fun. Casually meandering around the shops? Perhaps. Item specific shopping? Nooooooooo. But documenting a shopping trip, with no pressure to buy anything for myself? Very enjoyable actually.
Back in April, I got the chance to to spend the afternoon with Luke Sutton, Personal Stylist and Image Consultant. Luke writes a column for Northern Life, and back in January he ran a competition for one lucky reader to win a personal shopping trip with him.
That lucky reader was Jenny, from Keighley.
I caught up with Luke and Jenny, just as they were taking a well earned break by grabbing lunch at Tampopo. We sat and chatted, and then headed back out into the hustle and bustle of Manchester.
Luke’s shopping style is very relaxed and informal, and he has a knack of putting people at ease.
Luke has an invaluable list of contacts throughout Manchester, as I saw when I met the lovely Emma in Jigsaw.
To read more about what Luke and Jenny got up to, please head over to the digital edition of Northern Life and flick to pages 96 and 97.
I’m very lucky that my job is pretty varied, and I get to meet a whole host of different people. I had a very enjoyable day, and I’d like to thank Luke for inviting me along to document it. I look forward to working with him again soon.
