I’m not really a fan of the British summer if I’m honest. Don’t get me wrong, I like a bit of sun as much as the next person, but when the warm weather kicks in, it’s sticky and clammy and just generally “eugh” as far as I’m concerned! I much prefer the winter. Wrapping up warm, piling on the layers and getting all toasty inside my coat, scarf, gloves and hat! This morning I woke up and it was glorious outside, the sun was shining, the birds were singing and there was that chill in the air……I love it at this time of year when the temperature starts to drop, there is dew on the ground and over the next few weeks the early morning frost will appear. It’s my favourite time of the year. So when I saw the weather this morning, I got ready, grabbed my camera and headed out to Dunham Massey.
I head over to Dunham quite frequently, I love seeing it change through the seasons. This morning I was met with about a hundred spider webs spread throughout the grass; they looked amazing all covered in dew, sparkling in the morning sun. It was so quiet and peaceful and I just spent ages wandering around taking in my surroundings.
When I headed home, I turned my attention to the garden, I noticed that the leaves on one of the fern tree’s had already turned into a glorious orange colour. Amazing. I realised that it will be autumn before we know it. Cold mornings, crisp air, frost on the ground and the toastyness of a warm winter coat…….Bliss.Filed under: Personal Comments Off
