I think I established a couple of days ago, that its the simple things that make me smile. Dew on the ground, chilly mornings and chocolate hearts on cappuccino!!! A lot of the time when I want to do something, I want to do it “NOW”! It doesn’t matter what time of day or night it is, if I get an idea in my head I have to do it. Patience isn’t always one of my strong points. So as I’ve been wanting to delve a bit more into night-time photography, the recent nice weather has provided me with some perfect opportunities to go out and “play”. Last night was kind of a double whammy really – I managed to get (part) of the sunset I’ve been after along with some pretty lights in the night sky. Blackpool, along with Manchester and many other towns and cities, isn’t really my ideal place….BUT….I do like the sea and last night it was actually quite refreshing to walk along the sea front and take in the atmosphere of the illuminations.
I remember as a kid when my parents would take me and my brother to see the illuminations, we would sit in the car queuing with the hundreds of other people as we crawled along the prom “ooohing and ahhing” at the pretty lights and then get stuck in the traffic jam on the M6 on the way home. These days though, things are different, we park up in a quiet residential area, walk along the prom and then leave at a reasonable time so as not to get stuck in the traffic.
So I was quite pleased really, there was a sunset (although we were bit later than planned), pretty lights and no traffic jam. Brill. Then on the way to the gym this morning I was met by an unexpected glorious sunrise, so I grabbed my camera and quickly jumped out of the car to capture it. So you could actually say it was more of a triple whammy. Bonus.Filed under: General Comments (2)
