Wowsers! I can’t believe I’ve only just got around to blogging this! I’ve known Catherine and Dave for a couple of years now, so when they asked me to shoot their wedding – I immediately jumped at the chance! Back in February we headed into Manchester for their pre-wed shoot, which involved meandering around and doing some of the things they do at a weekend when they hang out….. hot chocolate and coffee at Night and Day Cafe, followed by burgers and a wander around the outdoor markets and then to finish up we headed over to Castlefield. After all that they took me to the vegetarian earth cafe for my lunch
They’ve got the most amazing wedding booked in August down in Newquay – on the beach! Fingers crossed for some good weather…..

One thing I should remember about my 365 project is that I need to stay organised! I’ve been taking photos and telling myself I’ll upload them later that day….. only I get distracted, and before I know it I’ve got photos on two different cameras and on my phone. Yesterday it took me nearly two hours to sort everything out. Note to self: stay on top of 365 project!
Day 44:
Saturday night movie. We’ve never seen ‘The Thing’ before, but it’s been highly recommended on a number of occasions. It was okay – but I found myself giggling in a few places due to the special effects. It’s hard to imagine anything like that these days….

I know I’ve said this before, but I’m going to say it again….. I love presenting brides and grooms with their wedding albums – it’s like Christmas
A couple of weeks ago it was the turn of Andrea and John. These guys were such a pleasure to photograph, so to finally hand over all their goodies and see their faces was amazing…..

There are many misconceptions about boudoir photography. When mentioned, a lot of people instantly think of glamour photography, along with a range of page 3 poses. There are also many other photographers with their own ideas about what boudoir photography is. For me, it’s about celebrating who you are – tastefully. Women choose to have boudoir shoots for many different reasons. For some, it’s a gift for their partner, be it Valentine’s Day or their wedding day. For others, it’s about reaching a milestone in their life or a certain age and wanting a reminder of how they once looked. Whatever the reason behind it, a boudoir shoot is a personal choice and tastefully done it can create some beautiful images to treasure.
Whether you want a boudoir shoot to celebrate just how damn gorgeous you are, you want to surprise your partner with something special, or you want to treat your partner to a photoshoot (it is nearly Valentine’s Day after all!), please get in touch. Hair and make up will be professionally done by Natalie of Roberts Steel Hairdressing and you’ll also receive a complimentary bottle of wine to help you relax whilst you’re being pampered.

Crikey! I can’t believe I’ve only just got around to posting this wedding. Last May – yep, that’s right – May 2012, Rachel and Stuart were married at the beautiful Hillbark Hotel. Stepping in at the last minute to help out Matt Bowen, I headed over to shoot Stuart and his groomsmen getting ready. Like with most groom prep, when I arrived all the guys were nearly ready, which meant I mostly got to hang out in the pub watching them drink, dance, (yes, dance) and deal with sunburn…..
….with Rachel and Stuart both being music junkies, they named each table after different bands, and as Stuart couldn’t decide between them, he had two best men, which also meant two best man speeches…… all I can say is, I was giggling so much, I’m surprised I managed to hold my camera still to focus!
I know it’s a bit late (but better late then never, eh?)……
Also, a big thank you to Matt for having me along to shoot with him.

So here we are, 2012 is drawing to a close which can only mean one thing – my end of year review. I’ve had an amazing year and I’ve had the pleasure of working with some fantastic people on a range of equally fantastic projects. I’ve made some lovely new friends, and not just on Facebook and Twitter but in real life too! I know!
I’ve also had the opportunity to be part of some amazing weddings and I’ve met some truly brilliant people. If I could high five everyone I’ve had the pleasure of working with this year, I would. But you’ll all have to settle for a virtual chest bump instead! Thanks for a brilliant year – I’m looking forward to working on some new projects in 2013 !
In no particular order, here is my year in images……

On the 3rd November, after nearly 10 years together, Andrea and John tied the knot at The Ashes in Endon. By the time the ceremony took place, the rain had stopped and the weather was pretty much perfect. There were clear skies for most of the day, with a little bit of cloud floating over later on in the afternoon, and the whole day was filled with tears, laughter and big, big smiles!
Andrea was every bit the beautiful bride, and John made a very handsome groom – these guys were so made for each other! There were plenty of laughs throughout the speeches, and Johns version of the cake cutting was brilliant. It involved mashing it up with the knife – repeatedly! The reception was in full swing when I left, and I’m pretty sure the dancing went on well into the night.
Congratulations Andrea and John, thank you for asking me to photograph your wedding
I wish you all the best for the future! x

Back in September I had the pleasure of shooting a fabulous wedding with photographer Matt Bowen. In the morning I headed over to shoot groom Mark getting ready with all his groomsmen, then from there I made my way over to the Mere Court Hotel, where I boarded a vintage bus with all the guests. I thought it was going to be a bit of a hairy drive to the church, as I wasn’t quite ready when the driver set off, so I ended up perched on the stairs for the whole journey! As it happened I had a pretty good seat, so did the same thing after the ceremony when we headed back to the hotel for the reception. Mark proposed in Thailand, so there was a lovely theme running through the reception with the flowers and the colours – there were also many pretty details for me to pore over! Enjoy…..
