2012 Review……

December 22nd, 2012

So here we are, 2012 is drawing to a close which can only mean one thing – my end of year review. I’ve had an amazing year and I’ve had the pleasure of working with some fantastic people on a range of equally fantastic projects. I’ve made some lovely new friends, and not just on Facebook and Twitter but in real life too! I know! :) I’ve also had the opportunity to be part of some amazing weddings and I’ve met some truly brilliant people. If I could high five everyone I’ve had the pleasure of working with this year, I would. But you’ll all have to settle for a virtual chest bump instead! Thanks for a brilliant year – I’m looking forward to working on some new projects in 2013 ! :) In no particular order, here is my year in images……

Andrea and John: Wedding Day

November 26th, 2012

On the 3rd November, after nearly 10 years together, Andrea and John tied the knot at The Ashes in Endon. By the time the ceremony took place, the rain had stopped and the weather was pretty much perfect. There were clear skies for most of the day, with a little bit of cloud floating over later on in the afternoon, and the whole day was filled with tears, laughter and big, big smiles!

Andrea was every bit the beautiful bride, and John made a very handsome groom – these guys were so made for each other! There were plenty of laughs throughout the speeches, and Johns version of the cake cutting was brilliant. It involved mashing it up with the knife – repeatedly! The reception was in full swing when I left, and I’m pretty sure the dancing went on well into the night.

Congratulations Andrea and John, thank you for asking me to photograph your wedding :) I wish you all the best for the future! x

Mark and Jenny: Wedding Day

November 15th, 2012

Back in September I had the pleasure of shooting a fabulous wedding with photographer Matt Bowen. In the morning I headed over to shoot groom Mark getting ready with all his groomsmen, then from there I made my way over to the Mere Court Hotel, where I boarded a vintage bus with all the guests. I thought it was going to be a bit of a hairy drive to the church, as I wasn’t quite ready when the driver set off, so I ended up perched on the stairs for the whole journey! As it happened I had a pretty good seat, so did the same thing after the ceremony when we headed back to the hotel for the reception. Mark proposed in Thailand, so there was a lovely theme running through the reception with the flowers and the colours – there were also many pretty details for me to pore over! Enjoy…..

Jubilee themed wedding……

October 22nd, 2012

I can’t believe I haven’t got around to blogging this shoot yet! Back in April, along with a fantastic bunch of suppliers to the wedding industry, I was involved in a Jubilee themed bridal shoot. It was a fabulous day filled with gorgeous dresses, flowers, and cakes, not forgetting the stunning wedding car that also had it’s own chauffeur !

Wedding album joy…..

October 8th, 2012

I know we live in a digital age where more and more people are requesting digital packages for their wedding photography. When I married Ian, we were also presented with a DVD of images, and I still love sitting at my PC (yes that’s right. I’m still PC not Mac!) pawing over each and every one of them. But I also love the look on my clients faces, when they get presented with their chosen wedding images in a gorgeous bespoke wedding album. Yesterday, it was the turn of Jayne and Chris…..

Happy Las Vegas Day!

October 2nd, 2012

Five years ago today, Ian and I said ‘I do’ in sunny Las Vegas. I’d love to say we’re celebrating by larging it up on the strip somewhere, but unfortunately that’s not the case! Never mind…. next year perhaps :)

I can’t quite remember when it started, but somewhere over the years we picked up a silly obsession with ‘jazz hands’. It was probably me who started it and then I tainted Ian with the sillyness….. On our wedding day we informed our photographer we wanted a ‘jazz hands’ pose…. to say she was confused and didn’t understand what we wanted to do is an understatement. After many minutes of us waving our arms around at her, she kind of smiled and said…’Oh. Jazz hands? Errr…o..k..a..y..’

After 12 years together we’re still just as silly and do many daft things that no-one else would get….. and that’s just one of the many reasons why we’re together!

Happy Anniversary Ian! :)

Nichola and Dave: Wedding Day

October 1st, 2012

Back in August, Nichola and Dave got married at St Hildas Roman Catholic church in Tottington. Nichola and her bridesmaids all looked stunning, and they arrived in style by horse-drawn carriage! I’d just like to thank Sue Westwood-Ruttledge for asking me to shoot with her, we had a fab day.

Andrea & John: Pre-wedding shoot

September 24th, 2012

There’s nothing I like better than getting out in the countryside, rambling up hills and taking in breathtaking sights. On Tuesday, I got to do just that with two amazing people – Andrea and John.  They met 10 years ago, and in November they’re getting married at a gorgeous country house barn :) For their pre-wedding shoot we headed to one of their favourite places, The Cloud at Congleton, where we were met with strong winds and an amazing view!
