Last month I shot the wedding of Rachel and Rhys, and I have to say that these guys were possibly the most laid back bride and groom ever. I had a fab time shooting Rachel’s bridal prep while the lovely Julie Smith headed over to Rhys to shoot his groom prep.
The ceremony took place over at St. Mary’s church in Cefn Meiriadog, followed by a reception at Rowton Hall in Chester. To keep guests occupied between the meal and the evening reception there was a pub quiz, so Julie found herself in her element going from table to table helping people. Sssshhhh….don’t tell Rhys! Rhys’s best man, who also happened to be his brother, gave a fantastic speech complete with images of Rhys from his many stag nights in many different outfits, much to everyone’s amusement. Although I have to say, he didn’t look anywhere near as good as Rachel in her amazing dress. ( Sorry Rhys! )
Congratulations guys and thank you for letting me part of your big day!Filed under: Weddings | Comments Off
A couple of weeks ago, I headed over to Lyme Park to meet Lucy and Barry for their pre-wedding shoot. In the days running up to the shoot we had been treated to some lovely sunny weather along with clear blue skies. Rubbing my hands together as if creating a cunning plan, I arranged an evening shoot so that we could make the most of the hazy evening sunshine and beautiful orange skies. In theory it was brilliant, in reality my plan didn’t quite work out like that, as the one thing us photographers can’t control is the weather. In the end we moved the shoot to the afternoon as the weather wasn’t looking too good. We may not have had the sun we were all hoping for, but we still managed to have a lovely afternoon drinking coffee, chatting about the wedding details and of course wandering around Lyme Park taking photos.
Lucy and Barry have been together for 9 years and met while both working as holiday reps. Lucy was looking after families and children, while Barry had the more extreme role of working on the 18-30′s holidays! I think Lucy is the most organised bride I’ve ever had and Barry has one of the most infectious laughs ever – I defy anyone not to smile or laugh in Barry’s company! I’m looking forward to shooting their wedding next month…..Filed under: Engagement, Pre-Wedding, Weddings | Comments Off
Last month on a very windy Saturday, I headed up to the Lake District for the pre-wedding shoot of Rachel and Rhys. It’s where Rhys proposed, so naturally it was the ideal place to have their shoot, and what with my love of the Lake District I didn’t need any convincing. They’ve been together for 10 years, and when they first met they used to hang out in Woolworths looking at CD’s together!
I just want to say a big thank you to The Cranleigh, who very kindly let us go in and take some photographs even though Rachel and Rhys weren’t staying there – they were full up due to the Great North Swim that was taking place. We also shot in the grounds of The Beech Hill Hotel, where they ended up staying instead and the views were stunning! Later in the evening we headed down to Bowness-on-Windermere to the bench where Rhys popped the question.
Rachel and Rhys are naturals in front of the camera and they were a dream to photograph! After spending the evening with them, it’s so obvious they are meant to be, and I’m reeeeeally looking forward to photographing their wedding in 4 weeks time! …..not long now!!

I know I’ve said this before, but I’m going to say it again….. I love presenting brides and grooms with their wedding albums – it’s like Christmas A couple of weeks ago it was the turn of Andrea and John. These guys were such a pleasure to photograph, so to finally hand over all their goodies and see their faces was amazing…..

Crikey! I can’t believe I’ve only just got around to posting this wedding. Last May – yep, that’s right – May 2012, Rachel and Stuart were married at the beautiful Hillbark Hotel. Stepping in at the last minute to help out Matt Bowen, I headed over to shoot Stuart and his groomsmen getting ready. Like with most groom prep, when I arrived all the guys were nearly ready, which meant I mostly got to hang out in the pub watching them drink, dance, (yes, dance) and deal with sunburn…..
….with Rachel and Stuart both being music junkies, they named each table after different bands, and as Stuart couldn’t decide between them, he had two best men, which also meant two best man speeches…… all I can say is, I was giggling so much, I’m surprised I managed to hold my camera still to focus!
I know it’s a bit late (but better late then never, eh?)……
Also, a big thank you to Matt for having me along to shoot with him.
So here we are, 2012 is drawing to a close which can only mean one thing – my end of year review. I’ve had an amazing year and I’ve had the pleasure of working with some fantastic people on a range of equally fantastic projects. I’ve made some lovely new friends, and not just on Facebook and Twitter but in real life too! I know! I’ve also had the opportunity to be part of some amazing weddings and I’ve met some truly brilliant people. If I could high five everyone I’ve had the pleasure of working with this year, I would. But you’ll all have to settle for a virtual chest bump instead! Thanks for a brilliant year – I’m looking forward to working on some new projects in 2013 ! In no particular order, here is my year in images……Filed under: Commercial, Engagement, Fashion, Music, Personal, Photography, Pre-Wedding, Prom, Theatre, Weddings | Comments Off
On the 3rd November, after nearly 10 years together, Andrea and John tied the knot at The Ashes in Endon. By the time the ceremony took place, the rain had stopped and the weather was pretty much perfect. There were clear skies for most of the day, with a little bit of cloud floating over later on in the afternoon, and the whole day was filled with tears, laughter and big, big smiles!
Andrea was every bit the beautiful bride, and John made a very handsome groom – these guys were so made for each other! There were plenty of laughs throughout the speeches, and Johns version of the cake cutting was brilliant. It involved mashing it up with the knife – repeatedly! The reception was in full swing when I left, and I’m pretty sure the dancing went on well into the night.
Congratulations Andrea and John, thank you for asking me to photograph your wedding I wish you all the best for the future! xFiled under: Photography, Weddings | Comments Off
I can’t believe some of the things I haven’t blogged yet! Here’s a preview of what’s coming up over the next few weeks….Filed under: Photography, Portfolio, Weddings | Comments Off
Back in September I had the pleasure of shooting a fabulous wedding with photographer Matt Bowen. In the morning I headed over to shoot groom Mark getting ready with all his groomsmen, then from there I made my way over to the Mere Court Hotel, where I boarded a vintage bus with all the guests. I thought it was going to be a bit of a hairy drive to the church, as I wasn’t quite ready when the driver set off, so I ended up perched on the stairs for the whole journey! As it happened I had a pretty good seat, so did the same thing after the ceremony when we headed back to the hotel for the reception. Mark proposed in Thailand, so there was a lovely theme running through the reception with the flowers and the colours – there were also many pretty details for me to pore over! Enjoy…..Filed under: Photography, Weddings | Comments Off
I can’t believe I haven’t got around to blogging this shoot yet! Back in April, along with a fantastic bunch of suppliers to the wedding industry, I was involved in a Jubilee themed bridal shoot. It was a fabulous day filled with gorgeous dresses, flowers, and cakes, not forgetting the stunning wedding car that also had it’s own chauffeur !Filed under: Photography, Portfolio, Weddings | Comments Off
