…vote for us! The Big Day: Virgin Media Shorts

September 12th, 2013

Back in July I shot some production stills for a short film called ‘The Big Day’, which was being entered into the Virgin Media Shorts. The rule is that all entries have to be no longer than 2 minutes 20 seconds – including titles and credits. Yikes – no pressure then! Out of over 860 entries, ‘The Big Day’ written by PurpleCoat Productions, has now made it to the final 13!!

Between now and October 21st, all of the final films are being shown at hundreds of independent cinemas nationwide, which means that 1) I’m gonna get my name on the big screen (high fives all round), and 2) we really, really, really, need you guys to vote for us! To get this far out of so many entrants is amazing.

The votes are cast through the power of social media, on Facebook and Twitter. To vote on the Virgin Media Facebook page, please hit the vote button next to ‘The Big Day’.

To vote on Twitter, your tweet must include the films name, followed by #VMShortsVote = (The Big Day #VMShortsVote)

I know that Karl and the gang at PurpleCoat would really appreciate your help – so please help us to spread the word, tell all of your family and friends and ask them to vote, it would be really appreciated! 🙂

Last week saw another sell out show from PurpleCoat Productions. This time, it was Titus Andronicus at Unity Theatre in Liverpool. The day before the show opened I headed over to take some photos of the final rehearsal.

2012 Review……

December 22nd, 2012

So here we are, 2012 is drawing to a close which can only mean one thing – my end of year review. I’ve had an amazing year and I’ve had the pleasure of working with some fantastic people on a range of equally fantastic projects. I’ve made some lovely new friends, and not just on Facebook and Twitter but in real life too! I know! 🙂 I’ve also had the opportunity to be part of some amazing weddings and I’ve met some truly brilliant people. If I could high five everyone I’ve had the pleasure of working with this year, I would. But you’ll all have to settle for a virtual chest bump instead! Thanks for a brilliant year – I’m looking forward to working on some new projects in 2013 ! 🙂 In no particular order, here is my year in images……

December 21st, 2012

Last night I had the pleasure of shooting stills for the opening night of The Rise and Fall of Little Voice at The Lantern Theatre, Liverpool. Put together by Purplecoat Productions, it’s a show not to be missed. It was near enough sold out last night, so if you’re still trying to decide what to do tonight or tomorrow, I suggest you book yourself some tickets and head over 🙂

Happy Friday!

On set for “Reverie”

February 28th, 2012

It was January. It was cold. I’m thinking about -4. Indoors.

I pulled up at the shooting location and looked at it from the car.

Ian had warned me how cold it was, and if Ian thought it was cold – then it was cold! I had multiple layers on. I also had gloves, a hat AND ear muffs, but even though I had been pre-warned, nothing quite prepared me for when I got inside.
