It’s that time of year again where I get to look back and reflect on what was good, what was bad and what was really, really ugly. Truth be told, 2013 has been a bit of a rollercoaster ride with many ups and downs. The first part of the year was quite difficult as I’d been struggling with my health, and although it was something I didn’t broadcast I was conscious that my business wasn’t moving as fast I wanted. I was diagnosed with an underactive thyroid and unfortunately two doctors had missed it, so for three years my symptoms had been growing to the point where I just couldn’t function. I never realised that left untreated it could cause so many problems. I’d got to the point where I just thought I was suffering from stress and also generally being a bit mardy! When I was finally diagnosed it was like a huge weight had been lifted – mainly because I realised I wasn’t being mardy AND it was treatable. High fives all round! By the middle of the year when my medication had kicked in I was finally starting to feel like myself again. This was also the point where I started to push my business in a whole new direction.Filed under: Boudoir, Commercial, Engagement, Film & TV, Headshots, Interior Photography, Photography, Pre-Wedding, Property Photography, Theatre, Video, Weddings | Comments Off
….bubbles, matching robes, matching socks, being front page of the newspaper, many amazing handmade details, a beautiful Charlotte Balbier dress and a suitcase of flip flops for people to change into so they could dance the night away! …..not to forget a cracking sunset! It could only be the wedding of Lucy and Barry.
Last month Lucy and Barry said ‘I do’ in front of all their family and friends at a pretty church in Marton, followed by a reception at Heaton House Farm.
So much thought and detail went into the big day and Lucy spent hours making so many pretty things for the wedding. From putting gems onto the back of matching robes for all her girls at the bridal prep, to hand painting the bride and groom cake-topper.
Thank you so much for choosing me to shoot your big day, and to all your family and friends for making myself and Julie feel extremely welcome. Big congratulations to you bothFiled under: Weddings | Comments Off
Crikey! I can’t believe I’ve only just got around to posting this wedding. Last May – yep, that’s right – May 2012, Rachel and Stuart were married at the beautiful Hillbark Hotel. Stepping in at the last minute to help out Matt Bowen, I headed over to shoot Stuart and his groomsmen getting ready. Like with most groom prep, when I arrived all the guys were nearly ready, which meant I mostly got to hang out in the pub watching them drink, dance, (yes, dance) and deal with sunburn…..
….with Rachel and Stuart both being music junkies, they named each table after different bands, and as Stuart couldn’t decide between them, he had two best men, which also meant two best man speeches…… all I can say is, I was giggling so much, I’m surprised I managed to hold my camera still to focus!
I know it’s a bit late (but better late then never, eh?)……
Also, a big thank you to Matt for having me along to shoot with him.
So here we are, 2012 is drawing to a close which can only mean one thing – my end of year review. I’ve had an amazing year and I’ve had the pleasure of working with some fantastic people on a range of equally fantastic projects. I’ve made some lovely new friends, and not just on Facebook and Twitter but in real life too! I know! I’ve also had the opportunity to be part of some amazing weddings and I’ve met some truly brilliant people. If I could high five everyone I’ve had the pleasure of working with this year, I would. But you’ll all have to settle for a virtual chest bump instead! Thanks for a brilliant year – I’m looking forward to working on some new projects in 2013 ! In no particular order, here is my year in images……Filed under: Commercial, Engagement, Fashion, Music, Personal, Photography, Pre-Wedding, Prom, Theatre, Weddings | Comments Off
On the 3rd November, after nearly 10 years together, Andrea and John tied the knot at The Ashes in Endon. By the time the ceremony took place, the rain had stopped and the weather was pretty much perfect. There were clear skies for most of the day, with a little bit of cloud floating over later on in the afternoon, and the whole day was filled with tears, laughter and big, big smiles!
Andrea was every bit the beautiful bride, and John made a very handsome groom – these guys were so made for each other! There were plenty of laughs throughout the speeches, and Johns version of the cake cutting was brilliant. It involved mashing it up with the knife – repeatedly! The reception was in full swing when I left, and I’m pretty sure the dancing went on well into the night.
Congratulations Andrea and John, thank you for asking me to photograph your wedding I wish you all the best for the future! xFiled under: Photography, Weddings | Comments Off

I can’t believe I haven’t got around to blogging this shoot yet! Back in April, along with a fantastic bunch of suppliers to the wedding industry, I was involved in a Jubilee themed bridal shoot. It was a fabulous day filled with gorgeous dresses, flowers, and cakes, not forgetting the stunning wedding car that also had it’s own chauffeur !Filed under: Photography, Portfolio, Weddings | Comments Off
There’s nothing I like better than getting out in the countryside, rambling up hills and taking in breathtaking sights. On Tuesday, I got to do just that with two amazing people – Andrea and John. They met 10 years ago, and in November they’re getting married at a gorgeous country house barn For their pre-wedding shoot we headed to one of their favourite places, The Cloud at Congleton, where we were met with strong winds and an amazing view!Filed under: Pre-Wedding, Weddings | Comments Off
